Our Methodology

Construction Cost Valuation Methodology

Fundamentals to Accurate Construction Cost Analysis

The essence of the Quantity Surveying profession is technical and commercial competence in deriving accurate and inclusive quantities and costs for building projects, and the Quantity Surveyor is the pre-eminent professional for Construction Cost Valuations.

Our belief is there is no short-cut to construction cost valuations.  Each building has its own DNA and comprises thousands of different elements. As Quantity Surveyors, we understand the quantum of elements, the cost make-up of each element and nuances of each buildings DNA – its shape, its height, its facades, its location and its innards, which cannot be captured in simple terms or square metre building cost rates. In order to accurately capture this, it is imperative to undertake thorough Field Surveys and document discovery.

Our approach is formulated on industry accepted methodology that captures the DNA of each individual building valuation.  At the centre of our methodology is the Elemental Cost Estimate, a hallmark of the Quantity Surveying profession.  This is a reliable and systematic approach, that ensures consistency for any type and size of building, whether assessing a single property or complex multi-property sites or portfolios.
